Awareness Seminar of the new law on access to information
A one-day awareness seminar about new law on access to information was held by the Commission for Monitoring Access to Information with the assistance of the Information and Public Awareness Directorate of the State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs.
The opening speech of the seminar has been started by the Information and public awareness Director Zikrullah Farzayee , he considered access to information as the right of all citizens of the country and he also observed the provision of timely information is one of the key principles of good management. He also said that access to information contributes to the progress and transparency of the affairs of the organization and promotes the growth of the system.
Zikrullah Farzayee referred to the responsible authority for information in the State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs that the ministry has a specific procedure for access to information and is committed to its implementation.
Afterwards Mr. Mesbah a member of the Commission for Monitoring Access to Information praised the activities of the State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs in the field of information. With regard to the new law on access to information, which included the duties and competence of the Commission for Monitoring Access to Information, he presented a comprehensive presentation on objectives, importance, benefits and legal resources of access to information, the duties of the responsible information authority, the criteria for information provision and the handling of complaints.
At the end, satisfactory answers were provided to the participants of the seminar.
