SMPA Minister attends Complaints Commission’s Meeting of Senate
Gul Badshah Majidi, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs attended the meeting of the Senate Complaints Commission.
The meeting was chaired by Mohammad Hanif Hanifi, the chairman of the commission that focused the issue of non-participation of some government officials in the meetings of the standing committees of the Mashrano Jirga.
At the beginning of the meeting, the members of the commission presented a list of names of government members who have not been present at the meetings of the commissions of the Mashrano Jirga on regular basis. They attendants said that today’s meeting main goal is to discuss the timely approach to MPs clients in government institutions.
The meeting also stressed on the importance of parliamentary offices in ministries and independent institutions and said that all documents, requests, petitions and suggestions of members of the National Assembly should be processed through parliamentary offices, but unfortunately some Institutions do not pay attention to the role of parliamentary affairs experts.
After exchanging views with the members of the Commission, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs assured that he would share the issues with the relevant authorities for quick approach. The two sides also agreed to send a circular letter to all government institutions focusing on the role of parliamentary experts in ministries and independent institutions.
